Star wars was ruined because they had no set plan and conflicting visions, Teen Titans Go was just a comedic spin off of the super hero series that ended up being pretty good, Thundercats Roar is cancelled, so is Velma so why bother?

I like Miles because he's like a Robin for Spider-man. And yes, I feel the same way about Spider-boy. Miles it more teen, Spider-boy is more kid. I also like that Miles is a more local Spider-man while Spider-man is more of a hero for the whole damn city. I like the idea of more than one spider-man because a single superhero can't save everyone, so to have Spider-man inspire more spider-men is cool to me.
