>Democrats are the conservatives now
Yeah, we know that already. Anyone with an IQ over 70 could have told you that liberals becoming war hawks, institutionalists, and neocons made them into the new puritanical conservative party.
>5 decades of globalization have destroyed job security, living standards, social cohesion, and domestic industry
One political movement says, "hey! Look at me! I may be a little clownish, but at least I hear you! I'll fix the bad stuff globalism did to you."
Another political party says, "nothing is wrong with working a job and 2 side gigs to afford making ends meet. Have you tried giving up your car and taking public transit or biking to save money? If you're still complaining about the wonderful way that things are, then YOU are the problem because YOU are just a LOSER who can't make it in a highly globalized and competitive job market. YOU are probably a NAZI!"
So, yeah. Who the fuck is going to win?
The side saying that nothing's wrong with globalization and deindustrialization making your living standards harder every year or the side saying that they'll magically fix globalism with a few tariffs and a cartoonish immigration crackdown?
Ultimately, the reason MAGA wins is that Democrats have NO RESPONSE to people who are fed up with globalization, immigration, and crime other than to tell them that it's all a good thing that they should learn to accept
