The bias there is pretty obvious dude. They had a DLC about climate change for CIV 6, now in CIV 7 they're pretending Harriet Tubman is a world leader and they've undermined the concept of a civilization as permanent to create a system where civilizations morph into different and sometimes completely unrelated civs through the magic of multiculturalism.
The audience didn't want any of these things. This was current year California proselytizing yet another sermon to an unwilling public; but they went to far, the audience revolted and they trashed a successful 35 year old franchise in the name of reinventing it to fit their ideology.
Like it or not this was clearly going woke and going broke.
