easy, they'd side with the rest of humanity and let their religion get co-opted by the Church, which isn't too dissimilar with what happened irl. Doing fucked-up shit for survival seems to be what this setting is all about (insofar as it's about anything at all), so the Mexica would probably fit right in.

>Aztecs where so fucking evil that the rest of the empire decided to ally with some random outsider at the first opportunity than defend the monsters that where the Aztecs.
you stupid Zambo monkey. The Aztecs weren't doing anything differently from what everyone else in the region were already engaged in since the Pre-classic period. Human sacrifice was the norm throughout all of Mesoamerica, and nobody was particularly opposed to it until after the Spanish conquest. Tlaxcala (one of the first city-states to ally with Spain and the Aztec's primary rival) was just as willing to rip people's hearts out as anyone else. The most you can say is that the Aztecs did it on a larger scale than anyone else, and that's more the result of it's political and military hegemony than any unique rituals or religious practices. Hell, you didn't even get the timeline right, most city-states didn't side with Spain until after the fall of Tenochtitlan, and then it was primarily a matter of opportunistic back-stabbing, a main-stay of Mesoamerican politics since forever. Get your facts straight, you walking crime statistic.

>I'm considering pulling a snoot game to trench crusade's volcano high out of spite at this point. The game's developers can't get anything to make any fucking sense when it comes to the world or themes.
Now that's a project I can get behind. I think the first and most obvious fix is the conspicuous lack of trenches. Considering they're in the name, you'd think there would be entire countries in Europe that would just be vast complexes of trenches, but the closest you get to that in the lore are brief mentions of "trench pilgrims."
