I love how you guys blow things out of proportions because you're quick to join a dogpile against something you perceive is weaker. There was no shit flung, only a discussion over whether the game is a fit for this thread. I argue it is because it's 90 % all card driven interaction with the last 10% being a lore compendium you read blurbs from upon completing challenges. As for the experience, players make constructed decks, they tweak that deck throughout play just like any investigator or even a ring bearer would to play in their mission focused campaigns and it all tucks away into deck boxes afterwords. Your deck isn't built from mashing together precons, nor drafted every time you sit down like some roguelite, it is personalized and refined over the course of play according to the whims of the wanderer. You can even take that deck of yours as it is and find any other playgroup of Rangers to join their campaign, at any time, and it doesn't break how balanced or curated the experience is. So there's another card game behavior that separates it from boardgames' typical 'teardown and setup' eb and flow.
The game is actually good, the mechanics are tight and fun, it's championed by a tight group of industry veterans that would be ashamed to produce a throwaway cashgrab experience. Serious care goes into the designs of their games and it becomes apparent moments after engaging with them that what they cooked up is unique and warrants further discovery. I encourage you to put down the fecal projectiles and give it a chance.
