You're not wrong, but you're mistaking the bitter, trapped NEETs for the rest of us. You're talking about the guys who are NEET not by choice, but because of a shitty life and poor decisions.
Of course the miserable ones are going to try and pull you back down. Seeing you escape the bucket just reminds them that they're still stuck at the bottom.
Honestly, good for you. The end goal for everyone should be finding a path that doesn't make them miserable. For you, that's working a trade. For me, it's being a NEET. As long as you're not just another cog in the machine against your will, you're doing it right.
