You probably feel like you're melting because the toggle is still active during parry, you need to both parry AND toggle it off.
That's why you rely on healers because during the split second between your toggle charging and getting the full lifesteal you're free rape meat, you need to use it in response to ults or CC (you can parry CC ults like Strange) or RIGHT BEFORE you're in danger when going in because when you use it when you're danger it's already too late, it's not gonna stop the damage from the sides.
