V is alone most of the time, just a pawn to be used by the dukes of Night City. Silverhand's insights into Night City and his attitude towards corporations and life in Night City offer lore and causes the player to actually rethink their actions; Silverhand offers a different perspective in the choices you make.
Silverhand’s worldview is almost always in directly opposite with V’s goals. V often just wants a simple and fast solution to the biochip problem and maybe a path to personal gain, whereas Johnny is thinking in terms of blowing up symbols of corporate oppression. That means every major plot beat becomes a delicate balance between survival and ideology. Even when you agree with him, you’re reminded that your values aren’t the same, and when you disagree, you’re forced to rethink with whether your own path is just another form of submission to the system.
But of course, a retard like couldn't have came up with an insight like this. Go back to playing your silly old non serious games and leave the grown up stories to the adults.
