Trust me, the controls are the least of this game's problems. It's like the dungeons are the only part of the game they put any real effort into, and left them connected with the most half-assed world the series has ever had. Exploration is so nonexistent that it hardly even feels like a Zelda game anymore. You're largely just going wherever the plot tells you to go next with very little chances to find anything optional, in regions that have mostly linear designs. If anything, the motion controls are the only thing making this game fun or interesting.
