People who are replying to you either don't know what the NES was about, or they're trying to downplay what's going off because of some autistic rule they've made up in their head.
Most NES games were supported by extra processing chips in their cart, so when a reviewer saying something along the lines of "pushing the NES to the absolute limit", it's a red flag that they don't know what they're talking about.
The developers of Former Dawn has gone on record that they can do all of this because of the mappers they're bringing along with modern technology, but specifically made the point that the tech in the cart is going to be on par with tech that would have been available in the mid 90's. Personally I don't give a shit if it is or isn't, but some people do because they're assholes, and only consider something legit if the hardware is specific to their personal rules.
