I'll forever go to my grave believing the perfect Sequel should've been focused on Satoshi, Keiichi, Satoko, and Shion (With maybe a little bit of Mion too).
I'm personally more of a fan of having the sequel story take place in '85 just to add to the dread Satoshi would feel feeling as if everyone has simply moved on from him. Keiichi going off to High school we're he'll have even less time to spend with Satoko and vice versa, Mion already creating a new club at the high school with new members that she would've been hanging out with for over a year adding the feeling that Keiichi himself has been replaced something he'd be able to relate to with Satoshi, Keiichi and Satoko being forced to end the Nii-Nii Imouto larp and confronting their actual feelings for each other, Shion dealing with having to wait for Satoshi for THREE YEARS, Satoshi returning and feeling as if Keiichi has simply taken over his spot in everyone lives and feeling as if they'd all prefer Keiichi over him leading to resentment towards him with his relationship with Satoko only fueling his hate towards Keiichi and everyone else for abandoning him.

Literally SO many ways you can take this story but no Ryukishi prefers the shit Umineko reference sequel.
