He's somewhat misguided in that he thinks of them as a rather homogeneous group, following their leader blindly. After being betrayed he would have to rebuild his idea of how Yokai operate, paying attention to them as individuals, finding their patterns and motivations, chaotic as they may be.
That, or just get strong enough to kill them should they get in the way again. Either way, he wouldn't hold a grudge

Oh I was going with an oni too, though in my case I decided on Amanojaku for the bits about trying to manipulate others into doing evil things, and also being a contrarian.
