The whole allied bombing campaign is extremely morally twisted.
When we look at Israels bombing of Gaza, we tend to think that a people shouldnt have to suffer because of the actions of their government, this case being Hamas.
Yet we excuse any moral dilemma from German and Japanese civilians and instead connect them to their government, as to say "you reap what you sow", even though these people were far more deliberately targeted and suffered far worse fate, especially Japanese civilians.
These civilians were ultimately held hostage by the fact that their government refused to sue for peace, and they did not know any better other than weather out the storm.
It's not just the fact that millions of women and children were bombed and died in the most horrific way, it's also the fact that their cultural heritage was erased.
Idk what to think really. The war had reached such a chaotic point by then, all bars seem to have been removed. The Axis were evil but two wrongs dont make a right. Again, it's quite preplexing when we look at the world reaction to the civilian population in Gaza depite the fact that Hamas are murderers and warmongerers.
