I had the exact same party setup as you on my first playtrough and i beat the game easy.

Says who? Fly and starburst are nice i guess. But fireball and meteor shower are more mana efficient. You should get minimum stats to master all schools anyway.

Dungeons can be brutal early game. I'd skip them and explore the overworld more.
