Hell no. It looks perfectly like a normal staff that's just starting to show chaos influence/corruption. Like that star of chaos isn't excessive and rather subtle by 40k stars of chaos so it could be seen as just normal Imperium decoration of the time if you didn't know any better. It's say it's pretty perfect for use in 30k, so go off king.
