Most of these people who complain don't even read comics, hence equating GI Joe with capeshit just because they're comics.
Some autists just hate the overlap with this series, not liking this thread isn't purely about the toys, hating that comics/cartoons exist for this series and that other people enjoy the characters from them.
they feel left out.
Even people like >>11523179 don't seem to know much about the comics, hence hating on some very basic story structures. If it's not straight forward and has a twist, it doesn't make sense, thus crap.
I find it really weird how other boards are proud that they can get into meaningful discussions about a series, yet /toy/ can't do that at all. Barely a blip of recognition most of the time and anger if you show any sort of knowledge about a series.
I used to think it was just anger at Transfags wanting to discuss their series when Generals didn't exist before and people would fill the board up just by making threads about Starscream or Black Arachnia, but even after Generals became common, people would still get angry if they discussed the characters/stories. This board is just too full of autismos, who don't even go to other boards to talk about lore/story/characters, because they only care about buying the physical toy and that's literally it.
It's no wonder there's too many people on /toy/ who seemingly quit the hobby as soon as a toyline is killed, not realizing that you can still enjoy your toys after production is stopped. And it's kinda sad there's people like this in this thread, since GI Joe was one of those few toylines that kept getting a General after it was killed in the mid-10s, because it had fans who just actually enjoyed the series.
