Explain to me how some sort of PDW sized semi-auto PCC wouldn't be better in almost every conceivable way to a patrol cop's service pistol for every day usage.
>plenty of options and price points
>not an absurd weight penalty
>slung rather than holstered, to reduce risk of gun getting wrestled away
>options for 9mm, 40 cal, 10mm, etc.
>"short" mags of 20 aren't that much bigger than what a cop normally carries in their duty pistols
>pistols are some of the more difficult weapons to shoot, a shouldered weapon lowers the bar considerably for accurate shots, reducing the risk of hitting bystanders
>adding a suppressor, if the department has the funds and paperwork for it, can protect ears and increase situational awareness that would be lost with noise
>otherwise it's just a bigger, easier to shoot pistol
Am I missing something here? Am I retarded? This seems like it makes all the sense in the world, and even people against "muh police militarization" who aren't dumbasses should be for this.
