Sony has realized that zoomers are pathetic consensus seekers that are incapable of deciding whether they like something without looking at sales numbers or user counts.

So, they've just started outright lying about sales numbers. There's zero downside to doing it. Nobody else can keep track across all the various retailers and online marketplaces, so who's gonna call them on it?
