It's a massive undertaking.
I've hosted a groupwatch for over two years where we watch 3 episode/1 movie a week in release order. On our way to finishing the Vermouth arc soon.
Honestly though, even something like Conan isn't THAT big a commitment. Think of it like this:
Detective Conan is 1172 episodes currently. Lets presume by the time you 'catch up' it's 1200, so that's the goal.
If you were to watch 3 episodes a day, Conan would only take 400 days. The movies/specials/OVAs could be an additional 30-40 days stapled onto the end.
That sounds like a lot, but it's really just a bit over an hour a day, it's nothing TOO big. In fact, by the time you're done, this Daily will have only been finished up for about two or three months.
But a big reason to watch Conan is because there aren't many good detective anime out there. The other big one I'd consider good is the original Kindaichi series.
