I hate lawyers and glowniggers. 99% of my pirated books are simply me checking out different translations to see which physical copy I want to buy, or downloading a backup epub of a book I already own physically for easy searchability + quotability.
Make it easy to view the first chapter of books, and add a QR code to physical books with an epub download and I'd likely stop pirating entirely.
