It's actually extraordinarily easy to save PlayStation in Japan, and has literally nothing to do with how the console is priced in Japan. It has everything to do with doing what made Sony successful from its very inception: Japanese developed exclusive games. Instead, Sony would rather take a gun, fire at their own penis repeatedly until it literally blasts off, then reload the gun and continuously shoot the stump that remains there.

Tears of the Kingdom was GotY. I would have also given it to Armored Core 6 though. Or Prime Remastered. Literally anything other than Baldur's Gape.
Every single year, Game of the Year IS a Japanese game. Maybe once every ten years a Western studio actually deserves Game of the Year, and I am being extremely generous in saying that. Honestly damn near every single year I could pick at least 3 Japanese games that all deserve GotY moreso than whatever Western slop Geoff and co decide to give it to.
