Yes. PS1 to PS2 was the golden age of it, no doubt. So many games were released back then from popular to completely unknown. Wild Arms, Grandia, Suikoden, Legend of Dragoon, Breath of Fire, Shadow Hearts. Legend of Legaia, Lunar, etc the list goes on
These days the genre is pretty much dead.
