The problem I have with shiv as a whole is that they're just doing too much with his design
>What if character that had a DoT poke on charges that can stack?
>What if a damage nuke dash that can repeat itself under conditions AND reduces cooldown with each hero hit?
>What if a passive that completely reduces the immediate damage a hero takes by a certain percentage, with the rest of it ticking down over time AND he can clear a percentage of said deferred damage
>What if an ult that targets an enemy and dashes to them, regardless of where they move and if they're behind walls, and executes them under certain health percentages. Oh and did I mention that max level it refreshes the CD any time you use it to kill someone?
>AND FINALLY what IF he also had a meter mechanic that fills by hitting heroes and when it's full he just gets a straight bonus damage to his damage, along with all of his other abilities receiving various buffs
It's just too much. It's very hard to balance a character that has THIS much going on. A lot of this stuff is cool in it's own right but the fact it's all stacked on one character is just absurd and a big problem with shiv is that because of all of these elements building for him is hard, as you have to focus on specific parts of his moveset and by doing so neglect others, which makes them feel useless.
Like if you're going for tank or gun shiv, your knives are practically worthless and dash is just a movement tool and the rage benefits of both mean very little. If you're going spirit shiv than your gun will be nearly worthless and you're unlikely to upgrade bloddletting or ult much until later into the game so your tanky ability is pretty low and you're not gonna have the refresh on your ult.
