That's the whole important thing about the Lor Starcutter and Elfilis / Elfilin, their interdimensional travel capabilities (specifically through star-shaped dimensional rifts).
The Dimensional Mirror from Amazing Mirror (and Dedede's story in Triple Deluxe) could be a stable form of dimensional travel, in the way that Elfiilis establishes a stable portal between Popstar and The Forgotten Land at the end of that game.
Also that there are bosses that open up dimension rifts to use as attacks.
