You're just asking anyone? If it's urgent, I think small talk is overhated for it's understated importance and perceived needlessness. Personally, there isn't much I miss more about relationships than idle, late-night small talk while cuddling. Talking about nothing in particular, in no real depth, just to feel the comfort of each other's presence while slowly drifting off to sleep. That was nourishing.
Even with strangers, it's alright when it gets past being awkward. I'm not oversocialised to the point of actively seeking it out, but I'll humour it for harmony's sake. It makes the cogs run smoother.
