Ultimately I'm frustrated that AAA game dev is a zero-sum game. Like it's hard to not always be projecting out "wow, if this game is this good, imagine how many good games we have in our future", and that's simply not true. What happened to Neversoft, and then ironically Vicarious Visions. Or finding out Nintendo's main dev teams wasted 6+ years making infantile slop after releasing the very good BotW and Mario Odyssey. Atlus selling their soul as soon as they hit it big with Persona. The joyless castrated remakes Capcom spends so much money on, while they occasionally put out something gold like Kunitsugami and you can't help but wonder if we'll ever get anything like that again or if the devs are gonna be sent to die in the remake asset mines. Sega dumping tons of resources into that one "Japanese humor" series that feels like a soijak parody of Shenmue. Etc etc.
I'm just gonna try to be happy when good games come out and try not to get my hopes up for future games.
