He doesn't throw temper tantrums to destroy the world (that's Nega), he isn't destructive for the sake of carnage (that's Zavok), he has backup plans in case plan A goes awry.

All of this is well said, especially the parts about him not seeking destruction and carnage just for the sake of it, and being smart enough to backup his plans even if they end up going wrong regardless but Eggman does indeed have issues with his ego and temper, with his hotheadedness and "babyrage" contrasting Sonic's humble coolheadedness.

This is also entirely true. Eggman sees himself as a misunderstood genius that's trying to remake the world into a perfect utopia where the fun never ends, and sees everyone else as idiots for not agreeing with his brilliant vision. He's just here to enjoy himself, impress everyone with his greatness, and play with silly WMDs and killbots that are shaped like funny little toys.
All the danger is born from his apathy towards how his actions effect his surroundings rather than direct malicious intent, and I think that's one of the more interesting things about him as a villain.

Alright, I have now beaten shadow the hedgehog.
I had always heard it was bad, and its definitely a step down after SA1 and SA2. But I still had fun even though I had to beat the game 10 times.
Sky troops was the best level just because it was the one where eggman was the hero path. I always wanna side with eggman, except when I could side with amy. Especially since the one amy mission was about finding cream

He wouldn't get the significance of a kiss, he wouldn't get why the location of a kiss matters, he would wonder why humans would willingly share germs with each other. He also wouldn't understand it if he felt romantic love. He might think something is wrong with him, or try and avoid the person in question. It wouldn't click for him until it's too late to reciprocate.

Shadow is a bit naïve in regards to his life experience and knowledge of culture/social interactions. But his naïveness is often overshadowed by his serious and pragmatic nature, leading people to think of him as more mature/experienced than he really is. It's a bit frustrating because casual fans interpret him as a well-adjusted chad bad boy type, erasing the naïvety entirely...but I guess the alternative is having that naïveness played up. Thank god I'm not a Silverkek.

Ian did go through the series in preparation for the planned comic epilogue. From what he can remember, the dynamic between the 3 was the most fun, solid part of the show. You had 3 different aspects of the Sonic persona playing against itself. Vanilla Sonic, Manic was more laid-back, and Sonia who was more uptight. There were some fun banter and interactions from that. If Sega suddenly announced that Sonic had family and he had to introduce them then Ian wouldn't be sure if it's worth preserving the royalty aspect. There would be fun in them having become separated for some reason and rediscovering each other and coming to terms that they're no longer singular entities, they have family. Sonic would be cool with it, a little excited. Maybe Sonia doesn't quite want to get on board with this, she likes being herself but that sense of belonging would win her over. Manic, let's say he's on the wrong side of the tracks. He's run a couple gigs with Rough and Tumble, an odd job for Clutch. He's not a bad guy he just does what he needs to do to survive. Maybe he doesn't jive with this world hero thing that Sonic got. There wouldn't be judgment on Sonic's part, he would just be happy he has a brother. That eventually wins Manic over and maybe it's not so bad to be on the straight and narrow.

I read a really long Shadamy fic out of boredom yesterday but gave up halfway through. It had over 1,000 favorites, so clearly Shadamyfags considered it peak literature.
It fell into the same tropes they always do. Sonic doesn't give Amy the time of day, Amy gives up and decides to look for another man, Shadow conveniently already loves her, they start dating and go on a motorcycle ride...you know how it goes.
Shadow called Amy "Rose" (he doesn't do that) and called Sonic a blue idiot whenever he's brought up (he doesn't say that), and he lives with Rouge, who plays matchmaker (he doesn't live with Rouge). But I could stomach it alright up until the writer gave Shadow five paragraphs of pouring his heart out about how beautiful and stunning Amy is. What the hell makes Shadamy fans think Shadow, who's so emotionally stunted he can't even return hugs, would ever do that? The concept of Amy giving up completely on Sonic is ludicrous to begin with.

I want to like Shadamy. I really do. But its shippers clearly like it for aesthetics alone and all their fancontent reflects that to such a degree that I can't enjoy it.
