I'd be very surprised if they make another numbered game again after Sonic 4. There MIGHT be a new Sonic Adventure game, but it won't be Sonic Adventure 3. It'll be like Pocket/Rush/World Adventure, where they take the title loosely yes I know Unleashed was supposed to be Adventure 3 but they won't outright call it the third in the series.

Things actually turn out worse, after Tails and Eggman attempt playing mind-game tricks on each other Amy grabs the gun while Eggman is distracted but Sonic is jettisoned anyway - WITHOUT an Emerald, so he's dead meat - then Amy shoots Eggman afterwards in despair. The two manage to sabotage the Eclipse Cannon and the ARK never falls, Shadow gets captured and re-sealed, thinking his revenge scheme failed. There are no more adventures, but Amy suffers PSTD for the rest of her life not just for killing Eggman but wondering if she could have saved Sonic if she acted sooner.

That's not the point. The point is that Sonic isn't appreciating Amy while he still can just like Shadow wishes he spent more time with Maria. For all that talk about living without regrets, Sonic can very easily end up in a scenario where he loses Amy, one way or another. That's not lost on Shadow.

Do PSX games sell for any decent amount these days? I have my old CDs still in a binder and I feel because of "MUH RETRO" there has to be a market for selling these things

Realistically, the scene would go on a little longer until Eggman sussed it out. He had Amy hostage. I'm sure one of them would crack.
But if he DIDN'T send Sonic to space? He'll probably still fight Tails as normal and lose, but this time he doesn't steal the real Emerald. The Eclipse Cannon never gets all seven real Emeralds, and the collision sequence doesn't happen. Does Shadow do something about this to set things back on track, or does the adventure end early, without the revelations or Biolizard?
