One "localizer" working for Dark Horse Comics - it's almost certain in retrospect that it was Ian Flynn of all people - stole a lot of bad/dated info from the Wiki and lazily slapped it into the English edition of the Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia without a second thought, which tarnished the reputation of the book in some circles, and he was rightfully paranoid that it would happen again.
