I have played my second game of 10th today. I have been informed by my opponent that cover does not increase my unit's save beyond it's base save. As far as I understood it, cover meant my guardsmen had a save of 4+, rather than 5+.

Is this true? I've always been playing cover saves as an additional save to my unit
