Another day, another dollar. When you play league of legends, its important to not be sick, or to get better from being sick fast.

To kill viruses or diseases, the body raises its internal temperature past the normal point so that it can suffocate the invaders with heat. When you wake up and your body is sweating, it's a sign that its been working hard on killing the problem.

If you were to get into a hot shower and then get out of it, you might begin shivering when you are sick. The section of the brain called the hypothalamus which regulates internal body body temperature, lowers the baseline amount due to the hot water. As soon as you leave the water, it realizes that it was lower than it wanted to be due to your sickness, so it forces you to shiver and shake in an effort to increase the heat.

It's a chemical called prostaglandin that the hypothalamus uses to increase body temperature, and prostaglandin can be inhibited by medicine like ibueprofen. Ibueprofen inhibits COX1 and COX2 receptors in your body, which is what produces prostaglandin.

All in all, if you want to take ibueprofen while being sick, you have to mechanically or externally raise the temperature so that the missing prostaglandin doesn't affect the recovery process.

The hypothalamus isn't to be confused with a section of the spine that regulates the feeling of pain or heat btw. The "gate control theory" is that if you think good / happy thoughts during extreme temperatures or pain, you can reduce the pain significantly or almost entirely.

The gate control theory I assume can be used for bad league games as well. Instead of feeling bad over feeding, think happy thoughts. It will close the gates of pain and help you recover faster.
