I'm pretty sure it's because League is still in Simspons-style time limbo mode where plotlines get advanced one at a time at a glacial pace, and the whole three sisters war in the Freljord hasn't been touched or elaborated on since the fucking introduction of the factions so neither can the relationship between Ashe and Tryndamere advance (other than a one off story about Ashe leaving Tryndamere at home because bringing him along is considered a war crime). Not helped at all by the fact that Riot not only takes forever to actually address said regional plotlines, but also tends to walk back on them A LOT with retcons or alternate versions, so it takes even longer to move from one plotline to the next and usually what gets left behind once they finally do is a messy and confusing series of events that might or might not be canon on a line-by-line basis.

If you don't have the capability to do good nearly every game, it's going to be a rough time trying to console a potentially angry team-mate / friend after initial meetings. In that way I can understand why people would have problems making friends in league; Initially it can be a very performative relationship.

I really like Annie on paper. She has cute skins, she has cute little psycho girl energy, she's still s1 coded despite the few changes and her theme (bioshock big daddy) is very cool.
Gameplay wise, she has a cool kit, though I guess you could say her pet doesn't do much once casted, plus she's a low cd champ so you're tempted to get cdr to proc her passive more often, but while your pet is alive you cannot recast it before it either dies or his timer runs out, which is often longer than her R cd, effectively having her R spell ready but being unable to cast it... Which really sucks. Should she be able to cast two tibbers instead? I think that would be super cool...
Plus despite being a burst champ which builds off of malignance and stormsurge, you can also play her dps with cdr, rylai bloodletter battlemage for utility and survivability, rylai gw that tibbers applies, you can build liandry and shred tanks... There's versatility... Plus her E being a burst of ms works like Ori's W and allows you to roam the map...

Now the issue is that she has HUGE manacosts, try to go cdr and you'll get oom fast. Very similarly to ori, building tear sounds mandatory, but contrary to ori she can't space and poke nearly as well... Which makes sense considering she has a point and click stun.
Still, I think Annie is underrated and it was refreshing seeing her in proplay.

Hello. I'm a really bad Zoe player. I mean really bad. Every now and then I'd practice playing Zoe in norms and occasionally I'd say 'carry me' as a thinly veiled admission of my guilt on top of saying that I'm a really bad Zoe. But then something happened. My Zoe got slightly better, but I'm still trash at her, so it wasn't that.

The norms changed for me. 99% of the games I'd get in norms had some premade on my team. If one was especially bad, they dragged everyone down with him because premades typically play for themselves and not as a team. For example some egirl Kindred getting double digit deaths by 20 minutes is fine to these people, but killing a low health lux pushing my 10,000 year old dingleberries in is an impossible ask. Spamming FF at every opportunity is intolerable to these people because they think they can win if they stop fucking around and actually try. And sometimes, they're right, but usually, they are not because the damage was done. Three inhibs gone, or no objectives taken for our side... "no let's keep trying we can win this" is what these people consistently think as they continuously make awful macro decisions. The 2nd or 3rd best player on your team is hilariously behind, but let's ignore the concept of win conditions entirely!

Now, if I were on a champ I actually kind of know how to play, and I'm the one with 1/2 or 2/3 of our kills? Yeah, they'll ff instantly upon getting gapped by 20 minutes at the latest. So, it took me 3 paragraphs to explain that it's no longer fun to learn new champs in norms because somewhere, somehow, my games depend on whether or not my team's party has a smurf that wants to win our game. That smurf is gonna inevitably fuck up and my shitty Zoe can only do so much to clean up afterwards.

Normals arent good to learn champions to begin with because theres so much unpredictable shit that would never happen in a game with people that play on brain-on mode.
You also shouldnt learn champs on your main account in rank because you potentially troll a lot of people that actually work hard to earn their rank.
My personal advice is to create yourself a smurf and try to learn your champs there. Low elos refuse to improse so they dont deserve the win eitherway, and they will flame and pingspamm their teammates at every possible situation even though the fault is 100% at them. They ruin the game for others with that behaviour, so you're allowed to ruin their game aswell.
If you want to be sweet look for the one player that doesnt look like a subhuman, and help him to get out of hell.

I used to have this morality aswell, but then my main diamond account got banned for playing taric top. I won 4 out of 5 games, but then lost to a darius in a season where riot admitted that no toplaner can currently beat darius in a 1v1 and league is a teamgame. Then i made a new account and played in bronze elo. Every single one of them is a disgusting permaflamer. You can get 2 pentakills and 1v5 their lobby yet they will call you bad for their own mistakes. And despite flaming you they will add you as friend and accept your duo request in hope to leech lp of you if you ask them.
Then i met a yasuo midlane who got a penta because i camped his lane, and the next game we made a bad engage, i pinged back because we were about to get killed, he tunnelvisioned, died and then flamed me for 15 mins straight.

I think the toxicity in high elo is different than in low elo. Low elo players will flame you for their mistake, try to leech of you and are overall more reptillian like.
High elo players usually get mad if you fuck up, and sometimes they say my bad when they fuck up.

I read the replies to that tweet and while normally champ mains are completely delusional they are actually pretty spot on in this case. Seraphine has had all identity gutted from her and tried to be forced into support. Her "support" abilities are actually genuinely not very good at actually supporting an ADC and helping peel. She is a mage cosplaying as a support (like lux but nobody has been deluded into wanting shield lux), and they tried to reduce mage power because she was actually doing very well in NA specifically as a mage botlaner.

Genuinely there's just no reason to play seraphine as a support(lowest gold and exp role in the game), when her kit has no innate value (stuns and cc have innate value which is why most supports have it). I am often matched in normals against players two ranks above me playing with their main. There are many players with high mastery playing with their main in normals, so there is still a challenge in winning some matches in this mode. It's not always newbies queuing up.

Didn't they remove the rank resets between splits? Between Nexus and Spirit Blossom season, I only got an lp gain reset while the rank remained the same.
As for the normals... To me the thing is that, in normals, if I feel like playing a off-meta/off-role pick with some weird build, I do it without thinking much because there are no lp or rank to lose. While I do this, there is the Platinum or Emerald player who tryhards and solo-wins the game. Takes away the fun part of the game, which is already little on its own.

If people would play her as an Enchanter because it does very similar damage to the AD build and is so much more useful, Senna wouldn't be a "grief pick." But for some reason people think that because Riot keeps nerfing her AP build that it's useless, when it's been her strongest and highest win rate build since they've enabled it last year for every single patch since then.
She's genuinely a very hard champion to pilot, and I think she doesn't bring in the right players for her, which is why you probably think that she's useless early game too. Before 20 Stacks she's barely a champion, and it's easy to really punish her before then. After 40 she's starting to get annoying, and any after that is just a bonus.

Sona does scale but lvl 8 1 item sona is already a threat of a character (w chord and ult are also much more effectively peeling tools than what senna has). Also sona is a grief pick in alot of games id only pick it as a counterpick to enchanters personally.
