When I showed Baki to my Italian girlfriend, she said it was like an extremely gay version of Hokuto no Ken.
I found this strange, because Tetsuo Hara used to tell his assistants when drawing characters: “Listen carefully. These guys are all gay. They may be fighting each other, but deep down they truly love one another.”
He said that mindset was the key to drawing truly sexy men in battle.
By that logic, it should actually be Hokuto no Ken that comes off as gay, so why did she get the impression that Baki was gayer instead?
