>had the game as a kid but never beat it
>last year decided I'll finally do it
>quickly reminded why I didn't beat it
I forced myself to beat it but man, everything in this game feels like it's working against you. Every single system is bogged down by two or three intricacies meant to slow down your progress to a crawl. Maybe I'm just not a dungeon crawler fan but I was having some fun up until chapter 3 where it feels the game really stops pretending to be anything other than grind incarnate. A game where grinding is a feature, not a balancing issue.
Sad thing is I really wanted to like it. Part of why the game has always stayed with me was because I really liked the photography and invention element.
