It was woeful. They just added more cores but especially back then hardly anything utilized more than 2 cores. I had a FX6300 with 6 cores and in games it got regularly beaten by a used Q6600. The AMD fanboys back then had the same confidence as they do now with poozen processors being actually good. I got that FX6300 system cheap, flipped it and made an okay mount of money. But on /g/ there were plenty of people blaming everything BUT AMD for the awful performance.
It was so bad I still don't buy AMD because they always disappoint.
