The entire premise only made sense if you had assumed hackers were Robin Hoods and "working" in name of the underdog.
Turns out, that underdog is pretty retarded, so there's no point in doing that, it's futile.
And that isn't even meant to be insulting.
We are some "third" force between normies and elites, the (actual, lol) "expert" force, i.e. the segment of people highly-skilled, and they need us, too, which gives us some leverage.
But for what?
Honestly, the only thing I can see going for hacker culture nowadays, is just to preserve and make sure tech remains accessible to all those, who need it, i.e. hackers for hackers.
Which is basically cope that the retards and elites are blowing everything up, if only involuntarily, because they just are such retards.
It's neither the bad nor the good ending, it's just the absurd, clown-world ending, ffs.
Maybe we (all) just needed to realize that first.
The elites need a neutral party to tell the retards, that they are in fact retarded,
the retards need someone to tell the elites, that they really can be fucking asshats.
In either case, go fuck yourselves, all of you.
