the heart is OUR symbol, it more implies something happened to us rather than her.

if our heart appeared and metastasized into noelle or if the sillhouettes of both kris and noelle remains intact during the darkness so we can safely assume that it affected noelle would have helped a lot.

like: you could keep the symbology intact by having the heart rose wilt (but not away) and then one petal enters noelle to make the pixel.
