>how all controversy surrounding violence in media completely evaporated at some point?
Liberals were never against censorship though. Much like those who worked at Rockstar they were all opportunistic and rallied behind a fake cause mainly because it involved standing up to a conservative rather than whether it was about whether video game violence equates to real life violence enough to try and take it down from Steam's greenlight program. Something like Hatred actually ticked them off. CD projekt Red recently demonstrated themselves to be complete hypocrites on a similar issue by saying that Mastercard and Visa were engaging in acts of censorship, despite the fact that they rejected this game being sold on their store.

Hatred was pretty great, ESPECIALLY with the 1.666 mod which makes it first person and adds some bonus missions like shooting up a gay night club and hunting down a reddit moderator
The default isometric view is fun but I think first person view is more fun
Really a great spiritual successor to Postal
