>no part of "you" persists because there is no "you" separate from the physical processes that generate the illusion of selfhood.
no, there is. most of the thoughts you think and their resulting beliefs arent yours, but were developed by chains of people who lived long before us. their legacy are we and we may work with this legacy we inherited, in order to pass it down with our mark left on it, having become part of the great chain (standing on the shoulders of giants). This is spiritual reincarnation, even if no memories are passed down and our exact mind doesnt become reconstituted later in the form we experience. Even the sun expanding and eating earth up whole neednt be humanity's end, it just marks the closing of the time window we will have had to expand beyond earth. We may even delay the sun's expiration date with star lifting, gaining energy to use in the process, but thats beside the point.

The legacy we leave behind is the part of us that lives forever (in heaven). Only those who dont leave one, those who didnt manage to do anything impactful with their lives, return to the void we all come from (hell). Selfish obsession with personal experience going on beyond death is quite infantile. Write something and future generations may become characterized by it just as we were characterized by the writings of past people. Slivers of them thereby are alive again, in us, after having been saved in their works.

Just to make sure it lands: personal experience beyond your physical sensory organs and verve costume failing to function is a metaphor only retarded babies believe to literally commence upon death, but that doesnt mean "no part" of you doesnt live on.
