I'll admit that I'm not well versed on the DS games since I've only played each maybe 10ish hours each. I recall many people complaining about the various grinds in DS and Dusk/Dawn in addition to tons of random encounters which is what I'm going on for that.

Start training in Farm to get the Tactician usbs.
Even having two equipped gives huge exp boost so you can de/digivolve much faster.
Having six usb's with three platinum numemons gets you from level 0 to 99 in literally one fight.
