After spending countless hours trying to grow my traps and failing, I figured out why. I always had a underdeveloped core because if I need to allocate my limited time to major muscle groups like chest back shoulders legs.

Welp sure enough once I started serious core work focus, my traps started to grow and really get activated. I think my body had some kind of failsafe mechanism to not get big traps if my core can't support it.
