they should remove tariff exemptions from tsmc. usa provides security to the island and the government subsidizes electricity, which is provided by us lng shipments which are secured by the us navy. taiwan chips are heavily subsidized by the us taxpayer for no reason at all. they should stop lam and asml from shipping any new lithography machines to the island. they should force all future tsmc investments to be on the mainland us. all they need is for the us government to stop intentionally sending the chip foundry business to taiwan at it's own expense. that might lose them domestic support in taiwan but so be it, feed two birds with one scone, we can stop defending that useless rock for good and finally have a lifetime of good relations with china.
