The de-makes are shit, and they are LITERALLY, no joke, a fucking SEQUELS to the original 1997 game and its HALF A DOZEN spinoff-sequels from the past 25 years.

That's right: THE remake people waited for TWENTY YEARS ended up being a fucking timey-wimey MCU alt-reality sequel, with shittons of idiotic woke trash, ruined aesthetic, butchered gameplay, god-awful pacing, and the audacity of not even FINISHING THE GAME at once, and just pushing it out as an episodic trash. With 80 dollar price point.
