Questionable honestly. I read a couple of Astro Boy stories ages ago and the only thing that I remember is that they were all depressing as fuck. Also the manga ultimately comes from Metropolis, a really dark sci fi film. Tezuka claimed that he'd never watched it but I don't buy that
