Does your dishwasher suck? Do you pre-wash most your dishes by hand before putting them in?
Chances are your dishwasher is actually a lot better than you think it is, you're just using it wrong thanks to big detergent! To see immediate improvements you simply need to do two things.
One, run your kitchens hot water tap until the water is running hot. The reason is simple, your dishwasher is 99% of the time connected to your hot water line and it's internal heating element isn't very good, purging your hot water line of cold water will give it immediate access to hot water and make the pre-soak cycle much more effective.
Two, put detergent powder into the pre-soak department. People don't realize this, but most dishwashers have a dedicated slot for pre-soak detergent, usually it's a little slot on top of the trapdoor thing that holds the detergent tab, but if you don't have one just sprinkle some powder into the door of your dishwasher. This will cause the pre-soak cycle to use detergents instead of just hot water.
