I agree with some of your points. I wanted to give the guy the benefit of the doubt. Some artists do have a style that looks a lot like some AI generations.
But apparently pic related is supposed to be Mulligan's art, too. This looks exactly like the stuff that anons keep posting on the Dall-E threads. That face looks like the Daisy and Donald generations I've seen on /co/. And what exactly is Scrooge wearing on his feet there? Are they socks instead of spats? An AI can fuck up that detail, but an artist wouldn't.
Googling for Mulligan's Disney art, the rabbit and this Scrooge don't seem to match his usual style either.
