Yes but so does the flour as well. Refined flour loses a lot of fiber so if you compare white bread (with the bran and germ added in) versus whole wheat bread. The latter is still going to be more nutritious as its flour hasn't been refined.
This also isn't digging into things such as the flour bleaching that's used in white bread or the chemicals (benzoyl peroxide, which is quite commonly used in pimple treatments, and chlorine dioxide) added in to speed up the process. It's quite harmful ackshually and vastly reduces the nutritional content in the flour.
