In China, those 40,000,000 people mostly died due to starvation deliberately caused by Mao's retarded economics and social programs.
6 million are reported to have been killed in a 5 year period, almost exclusively at small camps that couldn't house more than 1,000 - 5,000 people at a time. Even if you double that number from over-capacity, that's only a measly 2,000 to 10,000 per camp.
How exactly did they manage to have the fuel and manpower to constantly be ferrying hundreds of people per day into these camps during the massive bombing campaigns and attrition on the Eastern front?
