Yukito Kishiro was forced to makes changes to Battle Angel Alita by his former publishing company or they would prohibit future releases. He did so only to learn they did similar changes without his consent. He demanded an apology from the company and undo the unnecessary changes. They refused so Yukito left for Kodansha
