In a lot of ways it feels like a mobile game spinoff to XCOM 2. The strategy layer has been scaled down a lot, and there's some unnameable quality to the UI that makes me feel like I'm supposed to play it on a touchscreen. I like it, though. It's a competently done spinoff. It's been streamlined, but the research and resource management is still there. A much smoother transition than going from 1994 X-Com to 2012 XCOM.
